Miwatani Warrior

Miwatani was a Lakota Society of sash wearers who would stake themselves down before an enemy by thrusting a lance into the ground through a hole at the end of their sash with the other end wrapped around the warrior.  The warrior was not allowed to move any further than the length of his sash.  He could only be released by another warrior or by striking the enemy with the lance that staked his sash.  Their headdress generally consisted of owl feathers with red fluffs glued to the ends, though other versions did exist, depending on ranking.
