In 2017 my family and I went to western North Dakota to explore and paint Teddy Roosevelt National Park. We not long before evening and I wanted to drive around and find something to paint. We came across this stream on a rural dirt road and I quickly set up to paint before the light was gone. I asked my wife to take photographs of the scene while I painted. She had to hand me our son who was only around a year old to accomplish this task. He was not happy and cried the whole time I held him, while I did this sketch.
